Luella is a multi-talented strategist who creates initiatives that drive participation, impact and revenue. She was chief communications officer at Western Union, where she led all aspects of global communications and led the creation of the Western Union Foundation, which supports education, financial inclusion and disaster relief efforts.
Today, Luella consults with nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and is especially passionate about developing growth strategies for civic and purpose driven organizations. She also works with the University of Colorado, in a general manager role, leading the development of a new mini campus which is innovating new education delivery models that are market responsive for lifelong learners of all ages.
Luella has extensive corporate and marketing communications experience in global media relations, financial narratives, employee communications and corporate social responsibility strategy. She served as chief marketing officer for the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and vice president of institutional development and marketing for the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
The Denver Business Journal recognized Luella with a lifetime achievement award as an Outstanding Woman in Business in 2014. The Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce also named her one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in 2013.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing management and an M.B.A. from the University of New Mexico, Robert O. Anderson School of Management. She resides in Denver.
